Getting to Know Me
Hello, my name is Rita de Cassia Silva, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a doctorate in Cognitive Psychology from Grand Canyon University. My research, published by Harvard University, explores the lived experiences of female Hispanic STEM students and the intersection of gender and ethnicity.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from CSU Northridge and a master’s in Social Welfare from UCLA. Originally from Brazil, I am fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
I provide individualized, holistic therapy that supports the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, and family-related challenges. My approach integrates mindfulness, meditation, and strengths-based techniques to help clients build resilience, self-awareness, and lasting well-being.

Children and Teen Therapy
Today, our children and teenagers are also facing difficulties with bullying, irritability, aggressiveness, depression, anxiety, and the ability to focus on simple tasks. These issues affect their mental, physical, and academic development. We often feel hopeless as parents and caregivers. If you or your loved ones feel like that, I am here to help. My goal is to help improve your children's and teens' relationships with family members, boost their self-esteem, and help them develop healthier communication with those around them.
